Our Values

Mpira means ball in Swahili. It is the name of our brand because we believe in circular production. Together with creative Kenyans we make beautiful clothing and objects from usually discarded materials. 

We support fair trade: 

All our products are 50% produced in Nairobi, Kenya, in workshops which support and train local people so as to give them a fair living wage and good working conditions. The remaining 50% are made in our local mpira studio here in the UK.

A friend to the environment: 

We only uses discarded materials; upcycling and recycling these materials into beautiful new products.

Because we use discarded materials, we cannot ensure that everything is completely vegan, though we do not use any animal based materials ourselves.
